Classroom Program for Grades K-3

Bring ORC to your classroom or group for this engaging 30-minute, NGSS-aligned program designed specifically for students in grades K–3. Through hands-on exploration of authentic bird feet and wing specimens, students discover how different birds use their feet to hunt, climb, perch, swim, and survive in a variety of habitats. Guided observation, inquiry, and an interactive engineering activity encourage young learners to compare adaptations, make predictions, and investigate how form relates to function in the natural world.

Our Meet the Ambassadors field trips and Zoom programs complement our Traveling Talons classroom visits by providing an engaging follow-up experience. Students observe our ambassador raptors displaying natural behaviors, reinforcing the adaptive traits they learned about during their classroom lessons, helping to solidify key concepts in raptor ecology and behavior.
