All About Owls: Taxonomy, Adaptations, and Identification

This program introduces students of all ages to the specialized world of owls by exploring their unique evolutionary traits, hunting behaviors, and sensory adaptations. Through an engaging multimedia presentation featuring videos of owl patients and ambassadors from the Ojai Raptor Center, along with hands-on access to owl-specific biofacts—including taxidermy mounts, feathers, pellets, and skulls—students will gain a deeper understanding of what sets owls apart from other birds of prey. Participants will also learn to identify local owl species by examining their physical characteristics, habitats, and vocalizations.

This program does not include live ambassadors. If you would like to book a program that features our non-releasable raptor ambassadors, please look into our On Site Programs and Zoom programs.
