July 26 Encouraging Signs
Patient 26-519 showed several encouraging clinical signs.
Her PCV increased to approximately 14%.
She was also alert and was self-feeding, an important behavioral improvement for a patient who had required feeding assistance.
Her weight had increased to 4.1 kg, although weight in a hospitalized patient must always be interpreted alongside hydration and fluid therapy.
Treatment and close monitoring continued.
The medical team established that if her red blood cell level continued improving sufficiently and she remained clinically stable, she could eventually be considered for movement out of the highest level of intensive hospital care.
For the moment, however, she remained in critical condition.
