• Traveling Talons: ORC educators visit your classroom for a 60 minute, interactive NGSS-aligned lesson for grades 4-8 that features bio facts, taxidermy wings, talons, and other specimens. Students handle different bio facts at multiple Observation Stations to learn through observation and inquiry, about adaptations, and how internal and external structures help native bird species survive and process information in different ways. THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT INCLUDE LIVE AMBASSADORS. • Meet the Ambassadors Field Trip at ORC: This one-hour program at the Raptor Center offers students a unique opportunity to explore raptor biology through both tactile examination and live demonstrations. Students explore bio facts to understand key raptor adaptations, such as flight mechanics, hunting strategies, and sensory abilities. Following this, they’ll witness those very adaptations in action as our non-releasable raptor ambassadors demonstrate natural behaviors in live presentations.
