Directions to build this barn owl nest box. 2 sheets of plywood can make 3 boxes.
#1 Cut plywood as follows:
Cut 2 sides – 15” wide – front is 22” high, back is 24” high
1 front – 23” wide x 22” high
1 back – 23” wide x 24” high
1 roof - 26” x 19” 1 Interior partition –6” x 21 ½ “
1 bottom – 15” x 22”

Next:
#2 - Drill vent holes - 3 per back and sides.
#3 - Drill out 6” front hole near top.
#4 - Cut out clean out panel from one side.
#5 - Put together with partition inside, saving top for last.
#6 - Attach top

Put box together with Wood Glue and staples. Paint for weathering (recommend 2 coats exterior grade paint). Hinge clean out on the side, and secure with hook and eye or screws. Place completed box approximately 12-15’ high (reachable by an 18’ ladder) with the front hole not facing west. It may be hung in an appropriate tree, or mounted on a post. It is now ready for barn owls to find and occupy!
